Iman Ikhlas (M) Sdn Bhd was incorporated in March 1995 and started a small local Penang family retail business at 97 Chulia Street, Georgetown Penang. 

As business prosper from year to year we expended our business through acquisition of Welsan Cash & Carry in 1999.  

In 2002 we entered a long term lease at a new location along Penang Road the busy route of Georgetown, we renovated and converted the Cathay theatre into a supermarket known as Mydin Wholesale Emporium. 

From then on we never look back thus enhance our business further by opening up 5 Mydin Hypermarkets at the northern region in stages.

The previous operators of Sam's reported to exponential losses for Sam's Groceria (Straits Quay), which led to Iman Ikhlas to uptake this Venture. 

Customer's needs are at the core of any business. We notice that due to the Pandemic there seems to be higher demand for fresh food and grocery items as most household are enjoying home cooking. 

We believe that the presence of Sam's Groceria will promote more footfall and the occupancy of Straits Quay. Us being penangnites and having stayed in this neighbourhood for decades where we are very much familiar with the livelihood of the community and we feel confident that this outlet location has a lot of potential with strategic market placement. 

We acknowledge that development along the Straits Quay is expending fast and with the migration of expats and middle class locals to this community, we believe that a premium shopping outlet is needed to cater for the needs of the expanding population here. 

Our experience staff with positive approach and a helpful attitude will be able to meet customer's need. 

We are also working towards blending the on line shopping with physical shops. However we believe that customers still value the face to face interaction and our focus is on customers satisfaction.

Our primary focus is to fulfill customer's needs with the fresh produce, real value and a warm cordial shopping experience. 

To give confidence of freshness to customers we engage ample vendors to bring fresh produce daily (fruits & vege, including meat and seafood). 

We also focus on wider range of organic products, from vege & fruits, chicken, eggs, breakfast items, pasta, noodles and other daily necessities including green friendly cleaning products. 

Quite a number of our products are imported to suit the required needs of the community. 

In addition and not forgetting on beauty products, general household merchandise and stationary. 

We also have sour dough bread from the Garage Bakery delivered fresh daily. 

With spacious aisle and easier check-out counter, it will ease the traffic flow.
